Surf, Turf, and Woof: Ocean Beach Dog Beach

Only a short drive from Dylan, you’ll find one of the happiest places around. Treat your furry best friend to some fun in the sun at famous Dog Beach at scenic Ocean Beach. It’s a leash-free place to enjoy the water along with surfers, other pets and lots of friendly people. Dog Beach is a melting pot for people and dogs, all sizes, shapes, colors, creeds, and breeds. It’s a local landmark located at the end of I-8 at the mouth of the San Diego River. Here are a few rules. Remember to pick up after your pet, Do Not bring a puppy to Dog Beach until they have had all their required vaccinations, be sure that your dog’s required vaccinations are current for the health of all dogs on beach, and be sure that your dog is wearing a current license on their collar from the County Department of Animal Services.
